Southern California native Chris Strode is primarily a self-taught artist whose talent expresses itself through a variety of mediums. While living in the Hawaiian Islands (1978-1996), Chris successfully ran Stained Glass Originals, resulting in her working closely with local interior designers and architects to produce original works displayed in private homes and commercial businesses throughout the islands . While most of Chris's works on Kauai unfortunately did not survive the devastating hurricane Iniki, there still are many on the Island of Oahu. The Stained Glass Association of Hawaii brought further credit and notoriety to Chris's work by honoring her with multiple honors and awards  ranging from first place in both “Juror's Choice” category and “Best Design” as well as voted “Favorite Piece” by viewers. After a couple decades in glass, Chris returned to Southern California and began heading down another path on her artist journey, exchanging her glass cutter for a palette knife and brush.
